Becoming and staying productive don’t have to be about sticking to a complicated program or the latest app. Make the most out of your day by implementing these simple instructions:
1. Drink a glass of water when you wake up.
You lose water when you sleep, so you’re dehydrated when you wake up, whether you directly feel it or not. A glass of water helps to wake up your body and your mind, giving a better start to your day.
2. Define your top three.
It’s easy to let mundane tasks get in the way of what really needs to be accomplished. Prioritize the top three things that need to be done this day and don’t rest until you’ve completed them all.
3. The 50/10 Rule
Complete your tasks by working in 50/10 increments. Use a timer and work on one important task at a time for 50 minutes with a 10-minute break in between. Take that 10 minutes to get away from the desk and go outside, call a friend, meditate, or get a glass of water.
4. Express gratitude
Gratitude creates happiness. Write out things you’re thankful for and recall them during times of stress.
5. Move and sweat daily.
Movement keeps us healthy and alert. It keeps our energy level high and our mood upbeat and stable.
