A few weeks ago our Dallas team got to spend time together working at the new Habitat for Humanity store in Dallas- ReStore. The store is not opening until later this month, so it was exciting to work in preparation of the store opening. We split our work into two times: the men worked in the morning and the women worked in the afternoon.
This store will sell surplus and reusable building materials to the public. The money raised supports Habitat for Humanity. This not only gets money to a great cause but provides an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep the building materials out of landfills!
These stores are across the nation, so it is exciting to help out with one that will be opening near our office! Monica and Whitney spent their morning climbing up and down ladders to remove painters tape from all over the store. Will and Ryan spent their afternoon moving heavy furniture and re-taping the walls for paint in a different area.
It was great to be able to spend time together outside the office and use our hands to give back to the community. Our giving back days are always a blast, and this one was no exception. It will be exciting to see the store when it opens. Habitat told us they are inviting all volunteers back for their grand opening party. We are excited to go and see the final product of all of our work!
