Nashville Team Sorts Food For The Hungry

For our June give-back, the Nashville office sorted food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Second Harvest was designed to collect, inspect and sort food that would have otherwise been wasted. They then distribute all the donated food to soup kitchens, pantries and shelters serving the hungry.

Going into it, we all thought we’d be organizing cans and packing them into a refrigerator. Second Harvest had another need in mind! By the end of the evening, our IDR team helped sort and pack 1,400lbs of corn pop cereal! We had put together 1,470 bags of cereal which meant that we were able to reach 1,470 starving families!

We may have been fast and productive, but the best part was our teamwork and passion for the cause. Each member had a task and diligently worked to reach the common goal of helping hungry men, women and children.

1 in 6 Americans and 1 in 4 children are at risk of hunger.

46 counties throughout Middle and West Tennessee are served by Second Harvest Food Bank.

A big thank you to everyone who came out!
