Monitoring Engineer
Location: Denver, Colorado

IDR is looking for a Monitoring Engineer for one of our Fortune 200 Healthcare clients in Denver, CO. This position will be a 12-month contract with potential for extension and/or conversion. The ideal candidate will have monitoring experience in google cloud.
RESPONSIBILITIES of the Monitoring Engineer
- Develop GCP Cloud Monitoring policies as code (in Terraform)
- Integrate GCP monitoring alerts into IT Alerting/Notification tool
- Develop monitors in Zabbix
- Instrument Dynatrace OneAgent on critical applications
- Exchange knowledge with other monitoring staff
REQUIRED
- 5+ years of experience required
- Working knowledge of enterprise systems monitoring
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and GCP Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver)
- Proficiency in Terraform
- Proficiency in 1 or more additional programming and/or scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, C#, Java Script, C/C++ or Java.
- Knowledge of DevOps Stack (Gitlab, Puppet, Jenkins, Prometheus, Sensu etc)
- Working knowledge of APIs and Web Services
- Basic familiarity with ITIL processes, specifically Incident Management, Change Management and Problem
- Working knowledge of ticketing systems such as Service-Now
- Work independently and as a technical team member
- Good organizational skills and the ability to document and communicate complex concepts
- Good verbal and written communication skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Solid understanding of networking elements, concepts and protocols including Firewalls, Routers, Load Balancers, Switches, VLANs, TCP, SNMP and so on.
- Network monitoring, NNMi strongly preferred
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools, Dynatrace strongly preferred
- Experience developing monitoring solutions with enterprise systems monitoring tools, Zabbix strongly preferred
- Proficiency with HP Operations Orchestrator (HPOO) or other automation/orchestration tools
- Experience with IT Alerting systems, preferably PagerDuty
